St Austell Brewery was founded in 1851, by Walter Hicks, developing and supporting high quality, successful and thriving pubs has been at the heart of our business for over 160 years.

We are proud of our pub estate’s diversity and of the wide variety of business opportunities that we can offer our tenants, from large destination inns set in some of the South West’s prime beauty spots to small community pubs serving the local residents in towns and villages across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. Our pubs range from the Isles of Scilly in the West to Taunton in the East.

We encourage and support our tenants to choose and develop a business to play to their strengths while taking full advantage of the pub’s particular character and sense of place in its community. While proud of our estate’s diversity we also want the black and gold signage on all St Austell Brewery businesses to stand for certain shared values: a warm welcome, good food and drink and award-winning cask ales all served in comfortable surroundings.
